Beyond the highlight reel, these are the real moments, real people, and real reasons behind the images.

First of all, I adore Maya. Maya is an outstanding singer and a lead vocalist in the US Army Band “Downrange.” She owns a golden doodle that I’m infatuated with, learned how to swallow pills for the first time in 2024 (we’re so proud of you, babygirl), and is always game for “Mayaaaaa, I have an idea!!!”

As a musician (Me! Hi, I’m a professional flutist and piccolo player as well), it is always a joy to work with fellow musicians to revamp their portraits to represent who they are NOW, cause 9/10 the last time they had portraits taken was during undergrad or grad school

This was a fun one! Amanda came to me as an out of town referral after her booking with another photographer fell through. Lucky me!! She asked if I was available that very weekend, I happened to have a last minute cancellation, and we were able to hop on a call immediately! Timing seemed to be perfect for us, but Mother Nature and the infamous DC traffic pattern had other plans…

Meet Drew Fremder: associate principal trumpet of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” tenured member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, newly endorsed Yamaha Performing Artist, and also my husband.
When Caroline called and asked if I was available to photograph her wedding, to say I was thrilled was an understatement. When she mentioned their location was none other than the Washington National Cathedral- my jaw dropped. So obviously I said yes yes yes yes yes yes and we decided to mosey around the campus as part of their engagement session!
Claire was my first 2026 senior- a session I’ll truly never forget! First of all, I got called “ma’am” a million times, which made me feel super old… and I’l literally just a baby millennial. Ok fine, I’m actually pretty firmly an elder millennial but as Regina George’s mom says “I’m a COOL mom” big wink and Second of all, the whole family came along, including her sweet pup! I’m telling you- Claire was a dream, the weather was a dream, our light was a dream! We couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome.
I’ve lived about 20 minutes south of Washington DC (in Northern Virginia) for over 11 years and I’m still completely infatuated, probably more than ever, with the history and architecture in the district! My recent work with Stroll magazine has brought me to stunning historical homes across Cleveland Park and the Palisades- and met with the equally wonderful inhibitors of these homes. Spending time with your families in locations and situations where you feel the most- what a dream.
I was taking photos for my beloved Eries Interiors (Old Town, tell them I sent you) when I got to meet Jennifer. She is one of the five female artists featured in their adorably eclectic mid-century modern home goods store on St. Asaph. I’m super thankful to say she’s part of this creative mama community AND a repeat client that I’m always beyond excited to meet with.
