There’s a reason why Manassas Battlefield is one of my most highly recommended photo locations!
Claire was my first 2026 senior- a session I’ll truly never forget! First of all, I got called “ma’am” a million times, which made me feel super old… and I’l literally just a baby millennial. Ok fine, I’m actually pretty firmly an elder millennial but as Regina George’s mom says “I’m a COOL mom” big wink and Second of all, the whole family came along, including her sweet pup! I’m telling you- Claire was a dream, the weather was a dream, our light was a dream! We couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome.
So- WHY Manassas Battlefield?
1) Control. I know EXACTLY where and when I want to be for the perfect dreamy glowy golden hour photos. What if the light isn’t perfectly glowy? Fantastic- moody or diffused cloud photos create such creamy skin tones and effortlessly even light! I promise I know how to work whatever the sun and clouds decides to give us. The light in such a wide open space is always unreal- cinematic, main character energy every time.
2) It is such an expansive location. There may be a few times a year (peak colors in the fall, for example) where there are more tourists and locals milling about, but at over 5,000 acres theres plenty of nature for everyone! So on the flip side- quiet. There’s space to breathe, walk, run, dance, laugh, and forget that you’re even in front of a camera!
3) It looks different in every season! Soft to bright greens in the spring, tall golden grasses and bold forests in the fall, and everything in between. It truly never gets old.
4) It gives editorial without even trying! Wide open landscapes, texture, movement- Manassas Battlefield is naturally elevated and timeless.
5) It attracts a type of client I love the most!! Artists and Dreamers of all types- seniors, families, couples, individuals- all love slowing down and taking time for themselves in the stillness of nature. And to get catcalled by me repeatedly because “OH MY GOSH I’M NOT KIDDING YOU LOOK SO AMAZING!” 😉
